The weapons knowledge course serves as optimal preparation for the subsequent state knowledge examination according to Section 7 of the Weapons Act (WaffG).

The course including examination is also suitable for boat owners and pilots to acquire expertise in signal pistols or trade (except professional weapon carriers).

The contents of the course and the examination are based on the current Weapons Act (WaffG) and the General Weapons Act Ordinance (AWaffV) as well as on the specifications of the Federal Office of Administration (BVA).

Required equipment

• Curiosity and willingness to learn

• Identity card

• Writing utensils

• Eye and hearing protection (optical glasses are sufficient)

• Weapons law and definitions according to WaffG and AWaffV

• Weapons and ammunition terms

• Long and short weapons

• Emergency / Self-defense

• Ammunition and ballistics

• Storage and transport of weapons and ammunition

• Duties of the weapon and ammunition owner
