IRIS-C

The IRIS-C from THEON Sensors is an uncooled long-wave infrared (LWIR) system that can be used in two flexible configurations:
as a thermal clip-on for night vision devices or as a standalone, handheld thermal imaging monocular.
Both variants are based on the same high-performance platform and offer maximum precision, excellent image quality and maximum tactical flexibility.

In the clip-on configuration, the IRIS-C is simply mounted in front of an existing THEON night vision device (monocular or binocular).
Without any modification to the night vision system, it produces a fused thermal/residual light image that enables reliable detection even under difficult conditions such as smoke, dust, fog or total darkness.
With the optional daylight training filter, the combination of residual light amplifier and thermal clip-on can also be operated in daylight.

With the optionally available Digital External Eyepiece , the IRIS-C becomes a fully functional, handheld thermal imaging monocular.
This configuration offers high visual comfort and is ideal for reconnaissance, observation, and search and rescue operations day and night.

In conjunction with the optionally available Smart Battery Pack, the IRIS-C can also be used as a head-mounted display (HMD). This allows information from battle management systems (BMS) to be digitally displayed in the user's field of vision, significantly enhancing their situational awareness.

The IRIS-C, in combination with the Smart Battery Pack and the Digital Eyepiece, is currently being procured in large quantities by the German Armed Forces and the Belgian Armed Forces for retrofitting existing NYX andMikron image intensifiers.

The helmet shown is not included in the delivery.
